4 year experience teacher and also teach in school

Nepali and Hindi are similar in some ways but no so much. Both the languages are derived from Sanskrit language. The people in Terai who are Madhesi also speak similar type of language to hindi but still not the same. So we can say some are similar but most are not.

Very similar. Many words are common in both the language with the slight difference in pronunciations. There are a lot of similarities so much so that if you spend few weeks with nepalis you would grasp it easily. many words and their meanings are similar or mostly same in both Hindi and Nepali.

Nepali and Hindi share similarities due to their common Indo-Aryan roots, vocabulary, and grammatical structures. However, they are distinct languages with differences in pronunciation, vocabulary usage, and some grammatical features.
