Hey Avik!

Both of them are gems in their own respect. If you look precisely and from a professionals point of view, Web development is wide/ vague term and can include any thing ranging from php, Python, Java, Ruby, Node, Golang etc...

With Python, you are being specific to your requirement and in the software industry, it is very very important that you be specific in your requirements.

So, I would suggest you go for Python. A teacher/ institute like mine will teach you Python and will also cover web development with this. That will be a magical mix and you will actually be learning both

- Python

- Web development via Python

In case you need any help, drop me a line/ contact me.

I strongly believe in future and future is for Python and JavaScript. In terms of software development JS have little advantage over python with the JS frameworks like React, React Native etc. But some of the startups using Django(a python framework) for server-side development. ORM's are the beauty in Django with easy to handle SQL DB deployments.

In terms of DataScience python has a clear lead over any other scripting language in machine learning and Deep Learning. Several libraries are already built on python for ML and DL, so its tough for any other programming language to challenge at this time.

The Highend DL frameworks like TensorFlow, Keras, Theano, and pyTorch supports python to build DL models. Hence DL is the future and sure python rocks in this segment

Python is an open source with the huge community support in both software technology and Data Technology, I personally recommend you to choose python

Having said that, working out following topics will be more fruitful and effective than most others in the sense that these grouped topics can be read in tandem which saves a lot of time.

1. Linear equations, linear inequalities.

2. Probability, set theory, permutations and combinations, AP and GP.

3. SI&CI, percentage and profit and loss (although percentage and profit & loss are not directly included, they might be asked when pertaining to the context of linear equations in 1 and 2 variables).
